General Manager and Assistant General Manager

If you are a leader who wants to put your hospitality experience to work with one of the most respected management companies in the industry, look no further. We are recruiting for the hotel positions of General Manager and Assistant General Manager.

The following selection criteria is utilized in identifying the characteristics, education, and experience level necessary to be considered as a candidate.

I. Characteristics

  1. Integrity - The setting of high ethical standards for oneself and others in all business dealing and interpersonal relationships: honesty.
  2. Leadership - The ability, through thought, word, and action, to identify and articulate organizational goals and to focus the efforts of a large group on these goals.
  3. Intellectual Ability - The capacity to think logically, analytically, and conceptually.
  4. Interpersonal Skills - To establish and maintain positive/genuine relationships with associates and customers and to demonstrate effective and consistent communication.
  5. Maturity - The ability to exercise emotional control and self-discipline, to behave responsibly and learn from past experience. To demonstrate stability under pressure. To make realistic commitments and follow through.
  6. Impact - The ability to tactfully standout in a crowd, make a favorable and lasting impression and command the attention of a group. Professional attire and image.
II. Education
  1. A four year degree in hotel/restaurant management or business is preferred.
  2. A minimum of an associate degree (2 years) is required, preferably in hotel/restaurant management.
  3. The candidate must produce evidence of having successfully completed at least two fundamental accounting courses.
III. Minimum Experience
  1. Two years of food and beverage experience in hotels and/or restaurants.
  2. At least 2 years in supervisory capacity. The two years of supervision is helpful in determing management potential.
  3. At least three months kitchen experience in full service operation with fundamental knowledge of food preparation. (Recent college graduates without minimum kitchen experience may be considered if they have two years food & beverage background; however, once hired they will be asked to complete kitchen training.)
