Over 20 Companies Recognized for Hospitality Excellence
WASHINGTON Oct. 18, 2004 Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) honored top owners
and franchisees for 2004 at its annual full-service hotel conference held this week at the San
Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. Five companies CNL Hotels & Resorts, Inc., Concord Hospitality
Enterprises Corp., Crestline Hotels and Resorts, Inc., White Lodging Services Corp. and
Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. were awarded Marriott's highest honor, the Partnership Circle
Award, presented to owner and franchise companies for their hospitality excellence. Over 70
representatives from companies that own or franchise Marriott Hotels & Resorts and
Renaissance Hotels & Resorts properties attended the three-day meeting.
"Our owners and franchisees are key to Marriott's continued success, and we value the strong
partnerships we have with these great companies who live and share our vision," said Joel Eisemann,
executive vice president, owner and franchise services, Marriott International. "I'd like to
congratulate this year's winners for their outstanding efforts and thank them for helping
to make our full-service lodging brands the most preferred among travelers."
- CNL Hotels & Resorts of Orlando, Fla., owns 70 Marriott lodging products and recently celebrated
the opening of their first Renaissance hotel, the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza. The
company also chose Marriott to manage the legendary Doral Golf Resort & Spa, which officially
converted to a Marriott resort earlier this year. This is the third consecutive year that CNL
has been honored with Marriott's Partnership Circle Award.
- Concord Hospitality Enterprises, based in Raleigh, N.C., has received Marriott's
full-service Partnership Circle Award for two consecutive years. The company has partnered with
Marriott since 1980 and today owns and operates 40 Marriott branded hotels, including the
Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel and the Renaissance Quail Hollow Resort.
- Crestline Hotels and Resorts of McLean, Va., evolved from two companies Stormont
Trice Management Corporation and Durbin Companies, Inc who share a long and respected history
with Marriott. Both were previously winners of the Partnership Circle Award, but this is their
first under the Crestline name. The company owns and operates 12 Marriott-branded hotels and
recently added the Sugar Land Marriott Town Square and the Marriott Plaza San Antonio to their
portfolio.
- White Lodging Services of Merrillville, Ind., owns and operates more than 80 Marriott
lodging products and has received Marriott's full-service Partnership Circle Award for three
consecutive years. The company was also recently awarded three #1 Guest Satisfaction brand
awards and will open the much anticipated 617-room Louisville Marriott Downtown in spring 2005.
- Winegardner & Hammons, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, has received more than 40 Marriott
awards and has been honored with Marriott's Partnership Circle Award for the seventh consecutive year.
Winegardner & Hammons portfolio includes 12 full-service Marriott hotels, including the recent
addition of the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key and the Columbus Airport Marriott.
In addition to awarding the Partnership Circle Awards, Marriott also recognized 16 companies for their exceptional guest satisfaction scores and honored other owners and franchisees for their achievements in the following categories: Best New Product, Opening of the Year, Conversion of the Year and Best Renovation.
