First Full-Service Hotel Built in the Area in 18 Years
WASHINGTON September 6, 2002 - Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) has announced that the new 295-room
Chicago Marriott Northwest hotel is scheduled to open September 16, 2002 in
Hoffman Estates, Ill. Located at 4800 Columbine Blvd., this latest addition to
the Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites portfolio is owned and managed by
Winegardner & Hammons, Inc., of Cincinnati, Ohio. The eight-story hotel
plans to employ more than 125 associates.
Ideally situated just 15 miles from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the
new Marriott is part of Prairie Stone, a scenic business park in the village of
Hoffmann Estates. Conveniently located near many area companies, including
Sears, Roebuck and Co. headquarters, Ameritech, and Siemens Medical Systems,
guests of the hotel can also take advantage of 200 acres of preserved wetlands
and indigenous landscapes, convenient public transportation and a 56-acre
amenity complex that includes a Health Fitness Center and Spa, jogging trail and
an outdoor amphitheater and garden.
The Chicago Marriott Northwest offers 14,000 square-feet of meeting space,
including eight executive boardrooms. For large-scale functions, the hotel
features a 7,500-square-foot ballroom ideal for banquets, corporate or social
