CINCINNATI, OH August 1, 2001 - Bill Coughlin, CHA, is promoted to Regional Vice President (RVP)
for Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. (WHI), effective October 1, 2001.
Coughlin, whose office will be at WHI Corporate Office in Blue Ash (a suburb of Cincinnati), has overall
responsibilities for the strategic, financial and operational success of the 11 hotels in Region I: eight Greater
Cincinnati area hotels*, two in Dayton/Fairborn, Ohio (Holiday Inn I-675 and Homewood Suites I-675), and Embassy Suites
Lexington, KY.
"I look forward to assuming my new position of RVP," says Coughlin. "It is an honor to work with a group of honest,
hard-working, talented people who share the same passion and dedication that I have for operating the best hotels in the industry."
A 13-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Coughlin has worked for WHI since 1991 as a General Manager
and an Assistant General Manager at numerous hotels, most recently at the award-winning Marriott Cincinnati-Airport.
Under his leadership, the hotel opened in 1999.
Among the many awards that Coughlin has accepted in the past couple years are:
- 1998/99 Holiday Inn Torchbearer Award, the brand's most prestigious honor
- 1999 Hotelier of the Year Award for Maryland, presented by Maryland Hotel & Motel Association
- 1999 Marriott's Operational Excellence Award for Best New Opening
- 2000 Marriott's Guest Excellence Award
- 2001 WHI's General Managers Conference Award of Excellence.
Coughlin and his wife, Barbara, reside in Union, Kentucky, with their three children.
He is a 2001/2000 board member of Marriott's Service Signature Review Board, 2001 Hispanic Resource Center Board member,
and a 2001 Northern Kentucky Leadership alumnus.
