CINCINNATI, OH March 28, 2000 - The Doubletree Guest Suites, located at 6300 East Kemper Road in Cincinnati,
is now under new management and in the midst of a multi-million-dollar upgrade that is creating new meeting/event
space and adding other new amenities to the hotel. Cincinnati-based Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. assumed management
of the 152-suite Doubletree in January on behalf of Cleveland-based Cedarwood Corporation, the hotel's owner which
is undertaking the multi-million-dollar renovation project. Cedarwood is a developer and owner of retail, hotel and
apartment projects nationally.
Renovations to the restaurant, meeting space, exercise/leisure facilities, and other public spaces on the
first floor will be completed in May, while completion of the guest suite renovations is scheduled for early
September. The hotel will remain open during the entire renovation project, and no disruption in normal business
operations are expected.
As part of the hotel's upgrade, a new 2,100-square-foot ballroom is being created that can accommodate 150 people
for a sit-down banquet. The new ballroom is designed to host a variety of meetings and special events, with enhanced
amenities such as data lines with Internet access and state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities.
Two new executive boardrooms also are being created that feature comfortable seating for 12 people with high-back chairs
and a luxurious executive boardroom table. Six "conference suites"-special guest suites with similar executive boardrooms
attached-also are being added. Four existing meeting rooms that can accommodate 250 people collectively are receiving a complete
renovation as well.
The renovation is completely refurbishing each guest suite will all-new hardgoods (furniture, bathroom fixtures, etc.) and
softgoods (carpeting, wall coverings, draperies, bedspreads, etc.). Each guest suite will feature separate living and sleeping
quarters and a host of upscale amenities such as two televisions, two-line telephones with dataports, refrigerator, coffee
maker, a sleep sofa, iron/board, and hair dryer.
Upon completion of the upgrade project, the Doubletree Guest Suites also will feature:
- a completely redesigned restaurant (The Bistro) featuring a new menu
- a new elevator in the lobby
- an all-new fitness facility, open 24 hours
- a new business center, open 24 hours
- an upgraded indoor-outdoor pool area.
"The purpose of this upgrade is to create a boutique-type hotel with the amenities and personalized
service that appeal to upscale business travelers during the week and quality-conscious leisure travelers
on weekends," says David Rosenberg, general manager of the Doubletree Guest Suites. "With our superior location
in the heart of the Blue Ash business district and only 10 miles from Paramount's Kings Island, we're confident
that we will be attractive to both travel segments," he says of the Doubletree, which is located at the I-275/Reed
Hartman Highway Interchange (Exit 47) just one mile from I-71 and four miles from I-75. About Winegardner & Hammons, Inc.
