Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park adds to local sales team
SPARTANBURG – May 2, 2011 – The Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park has announced the addition of two sales account managers and one sales and catering account manager to reflect a commitment to the importance of the local and Upstate market The additions will allow the team to personally serve more accounts and capture more business from the key buyers who have national, regional and local meeting, social event, and lodging needs.
Anne Wood has been promoted to sales account manager from the banquet and event management team at the hotel. Anne has 9 years of hospitality experience, all with the Marriott brand throughout Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. and South Carolina. She has a degree in hospitality tourism management from Virginia Tech and will be responsible for the Association/Convention Group, (SMERF): Military/Government, Education, Religious, Fraternal, Athletic, Tour and Travel markets. Sam Dawkins recently joined the team at the Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park as a sales account manager responsible for the Corporate, University, College and Athletic markets. Sam attended University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has more than 10 years of hotel sales experience with both independent resorts and Hilton Hotels throughout the Carolinas. Barrett Alexander brings his expertise to the sales & catering team at the hotel and is also very familiar with the Spartanburg – Greenville area. Previously, Barrett worked at the Summit Pointe Conference and Events Center and the Westin Poinsett Greenville. He has more than 15 years of restaurant and hotel experience since earning a degree in Food Service Management from the Greenville Technical College.
Jessica Dase and Carrie Long round out the very experienced sales & catering team at the hotel. Both grew up in Spartanburg and have been with the hotel since it's opening in 2004. They have more than 15 years experience combined in the hospitality industry.
Ronitra Owens, a graduate of South Carolina State University and Meghan Creech a graduate of the University of South Carolina, are the Sales and Group Coordinators for the Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park.
