LEXINGTON, KY April 3, 2000 - The Embassy Suites Lexington has been named the Official
Hotel of the much-anticipated “Imperial China: The Art of the Horse in Chinese History” exhibit
on display at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington May 1 through August 31, 2000.
As the Official Hotel of the exhibit, the Embassy Suites Lexington will be hosting numerous dignitaries
and other special guests from China throughout the exhibit dates. Special Imperial China exhibit group and
individual rates also will be offered on suites at the hotel, and exhibit tickets will be on sale at the Embassy
Suites’ front desk. Hotel officials will be participating in the Imperial China Exhibit Gala hosted by Governor
and Mrs. Paul E. Patton on April 22 as well.
The Imperial China exhibit is the first exhibition ever to explore the role of the horse in more than 3,000
years of Chinese history and culture. Many Chinese treasures, estimated to be worth $100 million, will be
included in the exhibit, including an elaborate bronze chariot and 13 life-sized figures from the world-famous
“terra cotta” army of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huangdi.
