CINCINNATI, OH January 3, 2000 - Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. (WHI) President J. Erik Kamfjord is announcing changes
in company leadership and responsibilities, effective January 1, 1999. The board of directors approved the promotions
and changes to meet the challenges of the new millennium and continue the growth and success of WHI.
J. Erik Kamfjord, president and chief executive officer (CEO) since 1978, is
assuming his new role of company chairman while remaining CEO. Kamfjord will continue
to provide the leadership, vision and strategy that have made WHI successful. The Cincinnati-based
Company manages more than 30 hotels of various brands including Marriott, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn and
Radisson Hotels. WHI is recognized as one of the leading independent hotel management companies in the United States.
Keith Daub is WHI's newly named president and chief operating officer (COO). He will provide
the leadership for the entire company as WHI continues its tradition of excellence in hotel management.
Daub's comprehensive authority is to direct the daily operations of the company in its pursuit of the goals
of the company's mission statement. He is well prepared to meet the challenges of improving customer satisfaction
and profitability as he has an impressive background in the hospitality industry, including 14 years with WHI.
After graduating from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Daub was both an assistant general manager
(AGM) and general manager (GM) at WHI-managed properties. In 1977, he accepted a position with another company where he
was promoted up the ranks. In 1988, Daub returned to WHI as vice president-food and beverage. One year later, he was promoted
to senior vice president-operations, the position he held most recently.
Terry Dammeyer is assuming a far greater role in the company by accepting the additional responsibility
for all hotel development. As a result, his title is changed from senior vice president-product management to
senior vice president-development and construction. Dammeyer, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from
the University of Cincinnati and a master's in business administration from Xavier University, has been a part of
the WHI management team since 1984. Under his leadership, WHI has established a record of accomplishment for maintaining
a high level of product quality in existing hotels and for constructing new hotels on time and on budget.
Mike Conway is promoted to senior vice president-marketing. Over the years, marketing has assumed a role of
increased importance in the growth and success of WHI under Conway's leadership. In the new millennium, the
importance of marketing will continue to accelerate. In his 25 years with WHI, Conway, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky
University with a bachelor's degree in business administration with concentrations in marketing and management, has proved
himself in various positions. He has served the company as a hotel general manager, regional sales director and district
director of operations. As vice president-marketing, Conway has demonstrated his ability to lead and deliver results. The
scope of his responsibilities includes business development, national sales support, commissioned sales teams, targeted
marketing programs and e-commerce initiatives.
As the new millennium begins, WHI is firmly committed to the company's mission statement.
